My Pet Bird!

EMI!

SO I finally went and got my bird that I have been wanting forever…well not ever but long enough! I use to have two cockatiels (Fancy and Sunshine) but I didn’t know that there are certain fruits and vegetables that prove toxic to birds very weak immune systems. When they died I was devastated, they had been apart of my life for years and their deaths were very tragic to me. They are both still missed.

Well I got Emi approximately a year from then. She is a Green Cheeked Conure who is very spunky and has quite the personality. She is 3.5 months old and is learning very fast I just wish I was a better teacher! I research health for birds specifically the G.C.C. and found some very surprising parallels to humans as far as nutrition is concerned. i.e birds need a balanced diet between protein and grains and seeds….their seeds are best for them when sprouted just like for us! Also non-stick cookware puts off fumes that can instantly kill birds! Since I have been doing all this research I have found that everything that we as humans should look out for are basically times 10 for birds! Well that only encourages me more to keep trying to improve my health and household! Here are some tips you may be able to apply for your pets as well: Look up food toxins to your pet, almost all animals are allergic to chocolate, coffee. Cleaning supplies are very simple to make, water and vinegar are all I use plus a couple drops of lemon essential oil. LOOK UP what oils are safe to use with your pet! I’m really watching the emotional levels of my bird too I want her to be comfortable and happy! That includes where I have her cage placed what she can and cannot see, what music is playing for her etc. You may think I’m going over board but have you ever slept by yourself with your back to a door? Or where you can’t see the entrances to your room? How restful did you sleep? I personally listen to A Lot of alternative music, but some could argue I’m slightly disturbed 😉 lol However for most ppl that kind of music makes them uneasy and nervous same for animals and I don’t play my other music around my bird. I play her classical, jazz, and soft rock. So yeah who knows maybe Emi will live to be 25-30! I would love that!!

Anyways if you have a pet please subscribe and leave a comment on what you do to try to improve your pets health and what training tips you have? I stopped using non-stick and have been thrift shopping for vision-ware and cast iron… I have youtubed and googled training tips and Emi loves to cuddle and she “Steps up” and Almost “down” But she runs and tries to hide every time I try to get her out of her cage…she eventually comes out on her own and is fine but how can I get to be ok with my hand in the cage to get her out? Any suggestions? Leave a Comment!!
